About Us

We’re Amy and John, former New York television executives now living in Kennebunk, Maine.  We share a passion for travel, food, sports, and good times.  We traveled for fourteen months, checking out some great local festivals, food halls, sporting events, street fairs, and night markets before we settled in Maine.

Amy’s career has spanned over two decades in TV sales, marketing and production at NBC, CBS, Lifetime Television and Turner Broadcasting.  Their trip was her second sabbatical, the first being a four-month trip spanning four continents in 2008.  She most looked forward to showing John the Great Wall of China.  Amy’s mom was only slightly nervous about their trip (since it was her second time going around the world).  After Amy’s last sabbatical, her mother picked her up at the airport with a Philly cheesesteak and a six-pack of Coors Light.

John has written and produced for the Cartoon Network, Comedy Central, and the New York Yankees’ YES Network.  He’s won eight New York Emmy awards, and is an ardent Manchester United supporter.  John was most looking forward to floating on the Mekong river in Laos with Amy, and his ultimate goal is to bowl on seven different continents.  His mother loves “The Amazing Race,” and was once on the Howdy Doody show.

  1. Audrey and I enjoyed meeting you in Siena on Thursday for the practice run of the Palio. We ended up at the barricade right at the starting/ finishing line and had a great view of it all. I am now enjoying the blog– especially the account of Pamplona. You have even more of my respect than you did before I read about your adventure running with the bulls.

Love and safe travels to you both! Glad I can now say I’m not the only weird one in the family who has been to random exotic places on the map. Although I still think you both should come see me in the wild wild west known as Pakistan…we could do some fabulous carpet shopping.

Love, your crazy Foreign Service Officer Cuz

You’ve committed the cardinal sin of writing in burying the lede.

“Former televion execs?” “Passionate about travel, food, sports and good times?” My achin’ ass!!!

How about greater accuracy? How about “wonderful, talented, intelligent, savvy, practical, well-grounded and beloved individuals, incredible independently, and remarkable in partnership.”

Go live this dream come true. Go thrill yourselves, and us vicariously. Go and live stories you can bring back to us.

But stay safe, and well, and understand how very horribly you’ll both be missed.

    Love you.
